Roderick has spent the last 12 years in the corporate travel space as a creative problem solver, inventor, speaker and thought leader.

He completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, where he was awarded the Best PhD in the Faculty of Engineering. He went on to do a post-doctorate at Imperial College London, before spending 7 years in the United States and United Kingdom, in numerous senior technology roles focusing on mathematical modelling and optimization, control systems and automation.

Rod returned to South Africa in 2005 to pursue opportunities in the technology space and would eventually be appointed CEO of TravelLinck, an online business travel management platform.

He subsequently set up Ross Consulting in Mauritius to offer outsourced consulting and development solutions. An area close to his heart is that of enhancing client engagement through transactional chatbots, which ties together his love for automation with his knowledge of the travel industry.

He is currently also the Head of Product for Travelstart.BIZ, an offshoot of Travelstart that focuses on the needs of the corporate traveller. Travelstart is a leading OTA in Africa and a operates in 16 countries.
